Organ Pipe Cactus Nat'l Monument

North boundary

Sidenote: When I saw, on the sign, that this place was a Biosphere Reserve, I immediately thought of Pauly Shore. Is that wrong?

This is a great place to get a feel for the Sonoran Desert. A mix of mountains, broad valleys and the desert landscape. While many would think that the desert is lifeless, nothing could be further from the truth. The desert is arid, not lifeless. As such, you'll find a vast array of unique plants and animals you won't see anywhere else. The flora and fauna are perfectly adapted to limited precipitation, searing heat and the cold nights of a desert winter. I highly recommend that everyone spend a little time in the desert at least once in their life. Good for the spirit.

The desert definately looks like a peaceful and interesting place to visit. As you mentioned, once you are there, you see more than one would realise and a perfect time of year to visit such a place too.
As always, great photo's.

GD it. And that's after one correction already. I was going on memory and originally had "chullo." Then, changed it to the incorrect "Chollo." Correction has been made, thanks Anon.
