Holland, Michigan

After weeks of battling the gas company and the county building inspectors, I needed a break. I took a little road trip with my brother and his wife up to Holland, MI to take in a day at their famous Tulip Time festival. The downtown is peppered with tulips and there are citywide events such as a Tulip Trolley ride, carnival rides and wooden clog dancing. We had a great, sunny day in the low 70s and it was nice to get away.

Wow, not only is Michigan hard hit by the loss of auto industry jobs overseas, but now organ grinder monkeys are being replaced by stuffed replicas! That ain't right.

You might not guess this, but I am like the MC Hammer of wooden clog dancing.

What a coincidence for those original settlers, they leave Holland and end up in...Holland.

Another great job with the photography DD. Nice colourful Tulips. Great timing on your part, being there on one of the few days that MI sees blue-sky.

Herb,

Your patience paid off a hundred fold. That monkey is dynamite.

Ernie,

You're right, the lack of a real spider monkey is an outrage.
