Barcelona, Spain - Magic Fountain

Magic Fountain

In the southwest part of Barcelona is a park called Montjuïc. It is situated on a big hill. Looking from Plaza de España, you can see the Palau Nacional. (National Palace) A series of fountains and cascades flow downward from the Palau, through a series of plazas, to the Magic Fountain at the bottom. During the day, the fountains lie dormant, but they come to life at night. The flow out of the Magic Fountain is synchronized with classical music and colored lights to create and ever-morphing water and light show. In summer, this display attracts thousands of people. You'll definitely want to click on these pics to enlarge them.

I was really hoping with the lead up of your brothers coming into town and the title of Magic Fountain that this was going to be a story about the Smith boys versus the deaf mutes. Oh well, nice photos. Is it possible to get some photos of the mutes? They really got me steamed.

Four on two wouldn't be very sporting. Mr. Miyagi and Daniel LaRusso wouldn't even fare well with those odds, let alone two teenage deaf/mute chicks.

I don't have any closeups, but I'll try. That picture in the previous post shows the two girls, but their backs are to the camera. I was trying to stay out of spitting range. One is wearing a white sweater and the other a yellow one.

Maybe you could mouth that you're compiling a calendar of classless tw@ts and would like them to be in it? Wear the Gorton fisherman outfit when you do it though.....

I can't tell you how bad I want that outfit. I tried finding just the hat while I was visiting friends in Seattle and struck out.

So it's magical because the gods play classical music and color the water while doing so?

Lauren,

Yup, either the gods or a couple nasty, old Spanish women. I apologize if you were expecting something like the healing waters of Lourdes. This is just "oooh and ahhh" magic, not Jesus magic.

the yellow colored fountain, I hope that isn't the same result as the yellow colored snow...

Overworked,

With the lack of public water closets, you never know.
